What ReelCamp does
ReelCamp is an Australian fishing and camping app: fishing spots and campsites near you, the fishing rules for your state, fish identification that works with no signal, weather, tides and the best times to fish, trip plans, and your own catch log.
Common questions
Does ReelCamp work with no signal?
Most of it does: fish ID, the fishing rules, spots and campsites, your catches and trip plans. Weather and tides need signal to update; the last forecast you looked at is saved for 3 places (more if you tap Save for no signal), with the time it was saved.
Why does ReelCamp want my location?
To show spots, campsites and shops near you, work out which state's fishing rules apply, and get your weather and tides. It's only used while the app is open, and your exact position stays on your phone. You can say no and choose an area instead. To change it: iPhone Settings → ReelCamp → Location.
I'm overseas. Can I use ReelCamp to plan a trip to Australia?
Yes. Tap Choose an area and pick where you're going to fish. The weather, tides, spots and rules all work for that place.
Where do the fishing rules come from? Are they up to date?
From each state and territory's official fisheries pages, in our own words, with the date we last checked and a link to the official page. Rules can change at short notice, so check the official page before you keep a fish.
Where does the weather come from?
WillyWeather, including Bureau of Meteorology data. Always check the Bureau's warnings before you head out.
How is the best fishing time worked out?
It's ReelCamp's estimate from the tides, weather, sunrise and sunset, and the moon (solunar times). Tap Watch the solunar scan on Today to see the working. Better odds. The rest is fishing.

How do secret locations work?
They're your own saved spots, kept only on your phone and locked with Face ID or your passcode. We can't see them, and they can't be recovered if you lose your phone, unless they're in your own iPhone backup.
How do I delete my data?
Me → Delete all my data on this phone. It clears everything ReelCamp has saved, straight away.
Safety
ReelCamp is a fishing and camping app with some safety tips, not a safety app. Check the Bureau of Meteorology's warnings and local conditions before you go, and keep kids watched near water.
